Traveling waves to models of solid-solid phase transitions driven by configurational forces
Abstract
We study the existence of traveling/standing waves to models based on configurational forces. These models describe, respectively, structural phase transitions in solids, e.g., Shape memory alloys, and phase transitions due to interface motion by interface diffusion, e.g., Sintering. Also we compare our results with those for the Allen-Cahn/Cahn-Hilliard equations, coupled with linear elasticity, which model diffusion-dominated phase transitions in solids. © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
